How to Change How Long Screen Recordings Are Kept / Auto-Delete Recordings
On On-Premises and Private Cloud deployments (see Important Considerations below), you can manage your storage requirements and comply with data retention policies by configuring the system to automatically delete older recordings.
Changing Retention for a Group
You can set a global retention period for all users, computers and departments assigned to a specific monitoring profile:
1. Navigate to Configurations > Monitoring Profiles.
2. Click the Name of a monitoring profile.
3. Locate the Screen Recording channel and click the Edit
button under the Actions column.
4. In the settings panel, find the Retention period section.
5. In the Delete history after field, enter the number of days you wish to keep the recordings.
6. Click Apply changes to save your changes.
7. Click Save Changes to save the profile.
Changing Retention for a Single Employee
If you need to set a unique retention period for a specific employee, you can do so through their profile:
1. Navigate to the Employees screen.
2. Click the employee's Name.
3. Click the Edit Profile button.
4. Select the Monitoring tab.
5. Click the Gear
icon next to Screen Recording.
6. Enter the desired number of days in the Delete history after field within the Retention period section.
7. Click Submit to save the changes.
8. Click the Apply Changes button to save the changes to the profile.

Changing Retention for a Computer
You can also override profile settings for a specific computer to automatically delete recordings after a certain period:
1. Navigate to the Computers screen.
2. Click the Three Dots
icon in front of the computer and select Edit Computer Info.
3. In the Delete recordings older than field, enter the number of days. A value other than 0 will override any retention settings defined in the Monitoring Profile.
Important Considerations
AWS Deployments: Currently, Teramind on AWS does not support the automatic removal of screen recordings directly from AWS S3 buckets via the dashboard; you must use the Amazon S3 Lifecycle to manage that storage.
Manual Deletion: You can also manually remove time and screen records for specific slots through the Live View > Snapshots tab or the Employee Details screen. For more information, check out this article.
