System > Missing Users & Computers

Introduction

The Missing Users & Computers dashboard helps administrators find monitored employees and endpoints that have stopped sending activity data to Teramind. An entry appears here when an employee or computer was previously active but has gone quiet for longer than an allowed threshold, for example because the Teramind Agent was uninstalled, the device has been offline, or the endpoint is otherwise failing to report. This makes it easy to catch monitoring gaps early and gives admins a head start when troubleshooting reporting issues.

The dashboard comes with two tabs: Users and Computers.

You can use the Issues/Notifications dashboard to diagnose the most common reasons for missing computers or users. For further troubleshooting steps and common causes, see the this troubleshooting article.

Users

The Users tab lists individual employees whose recording activity has lapsed. The report shows the following columns:

  • Employee: The monitored employee's name or username. A badge (e.g. "Entra ID") may appear next to the name to indicate the employee was synced from an external identity provider such as Microsoft Entra ID.

  • Last Login: Timestamp of the employee's most recently recorded login.

  • Last Login From: The device/hostname the employee last logged in from.

  • Days Without Recordings: Number of days elapsed since Teramind last recorded activity for this employee.

  • IP Address: The IP address associated with the employee's last recorded session.

You can perform the following actions from this screen:

1. Two preset filters at the top control which employees are surfaced:

  • Data Recorded Within (Days): Only includes employee who had at least one recording within this many days. This defines the historical window used to identify previously active employees.

  • No Recordings For The Last (Days): Sets the inactivity threshold. An employee must have zero recordings for at least this many consecutive days to be flagged as missing.

2. You can apply additional filters using the Filters button.

3. Click the Export button to export the result as a CSV file.

3. Click the Three Dots in front of a row to perform actions on the employee such as lock access, edit profile, archive, etc. These are similar to Single Employee Actions found in the Employees dashboard.

5. You can click the Checkboxes in front of employees to select multiple employees to perform batch actions on them. Check out the Multi-Employee/Batch Actions section under the Employees dashboard to learn more.

Computers

The Computers tab works the same way as the Users tab, but lists endpoints/devices instead of employees. It has its own independent filters, and the current result set can be exported via the Export button. Click the Three Dots in front of a row to perform a Single Computer Actions, or use the Checkboxes in front of computers to select multiple and perform Multi-Computer/Batch Actions, similar to the ones found in the Computers dashboard.
