Access Control governs which users can view information on the Teramind Dashboard and modify settings.
You can create access control rules to assign policies and permissions to users and departments from the Access Control screen:
Initialize the Access Control Rule
1. From the main menu, navigate to Configurations > Access Control.
2. Click the New Access Control button. You will be taken to the Create Access Control screen.
3. Enter a name for the access control rule in the Access Control Name field.
4. Optionally, enter a description in the Access Control Description field.
Grant Rule Privileges (who is affected?)
5. Click the Grant Privilege button to grant privileges to users and departments who will have access to the policies and permissions you will assign (see Step 7). When you click this button, the Edit Access Control Privilege panel will open on the right side of the screen.
6. Select employees and/or departments and then press the Submit button.
Define a Policy (what access is granted?)
7. Click the New Policy button to create an access control policy and add it to the access control rule. The Create Access Control Policy panel will open.
8. Select a Policy Permission: View, Play or Configure. In our example, we selected the View permission.
9. Click the Next button to continue to the next screen:
10. Select a group or resources from the list of resources (e.g., Pre-set dashboards, Custom dashboards, etc.). You can click the Down/Up Arrows
to expand/collapse a resource group. When expanded, you can select specific resources. In this example, we expanded the Pre-set dashboards group, and then de-selected the "Keystrokes", "OCR", "Geolocation", and "Network Monitoring" dashboards. We also selected the Other resources and reports group (including all the resources under it).
11. Click the Next button to continue to the next screen.
12. From the Conditions to enable data from the Selected Resources list choose the target employees, departments, or other entities whose data will be affected by this policy's selected resources.
13. Click the Submit button to save the policy.
14. Repeat Steps 7 through 13 to add any additional policies to this Access Control rule. For example, we added another policy for the Configure permissions. The process is similar to adding the View permission.
