Introduction to Web Proxy
The Teramind Agent, upon installation, injects a customized HTTPS certificate called the Quick Web Proxy (on Mac, it is named "Internet Widgits Pty Ltd."). This proxy allows the agent to decode encrypted data, enabling the monitoring of secure web activities such as HTTPS sessions, webmail, and IM chats. If this certificate is not installed correctly, monitoring for these items may not work properly.
Checking for Web Proxy
You can verify if the proxy certificate is installed and functioning correctly by checking the certificate details of any secure website (https://).
Google Chrome
1. Open a browser window and visit a secure site (one that begins with https://).
2. Click the small lock icon in front of the address bar. A pop-up menu will appear.
3. Click the Certificate (Valid) option from the pop-up menu. This will open a pop-up window:
4. It should display Issued by: Quick Web Proxy.
Microsoft Edge
1. Open a browser window and visit a secure site (one that begins with https://).
2. Click the small lock icon in front of the address bar. A pop-up menu will appear.
3. It should display Quick Web Proxy under the Website identification.
Mozilla Firefox

2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select View Page Info from the context menu. A pop-up window will appear:
3. Click the Security tab. Under the Verified by: field, you will see the Quick Web Proxy information.
Troubleshooting IPv6 Issues
If you discover that the Web Proxy certificate is not installed or not working, a common reason may be that IPv6 is enabled on the system. To resolve this specific issue, please consult the dedicated article: Teramind web proxy not working due to IPv6.
Enabling / Disabling the Web Proxy
⚠️ Warning!
Disabling the Network Driver will significantly affect the monitoring functionalities of Teramind, particularly the tracking of secure web sessions (HTTPS).
You can disable the Web Proxy for all sites by disabling the Network Driver from the monitoring profile's Advanced setting. Alternative, you can disable the proxy injections for specific websites only by excluding them from the IPs to monitor
option in the Websites monitoring settings.
