How to add or import employees into the Teramind Dashboard

Enabling Monitoring for New Employees

Simply deploying the Agent does not automatically add an employee to the dashboard. To ensure new employees show up automatically after the Agent is installed, you should configure your monitoring settings.

  • Automatic Monitoring: Enable the "Enable monitoring for new agents" option from the Configurations > Settings > Agent screen.

  • Manual Monitoring: Alternatively, you can manually enable/disable monitoring from the Employees screen. Check out this article to learn how.

You can add employees to the Teramind dashboard either manually or by importing them in bulk using a CSV file.

Adding Employees Manually

You only need to add an employee / user if they are using the Revealed Agent. Employees using the Stealth Agent are added automatically upon installation, but you can still edit their employee profile for easy management and reporting.

You can add an employee from the Employees screen:

1. Select Employees from the main menu.

2. Click the New Employee button, which opens the Create Employee panel.

3. Fill out the details across the following tabs:

  • Personal Tab: Enter basic details (First Name, Last Name, Email, Position, etc.).

  • Account Tab: Assign a Default Task, set the Access Level (e.g., "Employee," "Administrator"), and grant access to the Teramind Dashboard if required.

  • Monitoring Tab: Configure the monitoring settings for the employee.

  • LDAP Tab: Displays LDAP attributes for users imported from Active Directory.

4. To save the profile and send an installation email, click the Send Invite & Submit button.

5. The employee will receive an email invitation to download and install the Teramind Agent, along with a temporary password for login.

Importing Employees via CSV (Bulk Import)

You can use the import feature to add employees in bulk from the Employees screen:

1. Select Employees from the main menu.

2. Click the Three Dots at the corner of the Employees dashboard to access the Context Menu, then select Import employees. The Import Employees panel will open on the right side of the screen.

3. Click the Download Template (CSV) button to obtain the required file format.

4. Open the downloaded CSV template in Excel or another editor. Fill in your employees' information, being careful to keep the special formatting of the CSV intact. Save the file once you are done editing.

5. Click the Upload a file link to upload your completed CSV file.

6. You can turn on the Email the invitation to the employee option to send out email invitations to the employees to install the Teramind Agent.

7. Click the Add Employees button to begin the import process. If your CSV file is valid, you'll see a success message once the import is finished.
