OCR

The OCR dashboard allows you to search for text that appeared on employee screens, across all recorded sessions within the selected period. The OCR engine continuously indexes on-screen text from session recordings, making it fully searchable without needing to watch recordings manually. This makes it an essential tool for forensic investigations, compliance audits, and data loss detection, enabling security teams to locate exactly when and where a specific word, phrase, or document appeared on any monitored endpoint.

1. To begin an OCR search, enter text or regular expression pattern in the Search session text field, select a search type in the the Text field:

  • Contains: Find any phrase that contains the text specified.

  • Regexp: Regular expressions, e.g., [a-zA-Z]{4}[0-9]{12}.

Then, click the Search button.

2. You can filter the result by using the date, employees and computers filters.

3. You can also search for specific apps or websites using the Search apps / websites field.

4. Search results display key details alongside each entry, including the date and time, the employee name, and the specific application or website where the activity occurred. In addition, the Text column shows a snippet of on-screen text surrounding your match with the search terms highlighted in bold. This snapshot preview allows you to quickly assess context without needing to open the full image or record.

5. Click the Camera icon to see a desktop screenshot as it appeared at the moment of capture. The snapshot highlights the areas of the screen where the text was detected:

6. Click the Movie Camera icon to view the screen recording of the session in the Session Player.
