Teramind Software Lifecycle Policy

Effective: July 1, 2026

Overview

To ensure all Teramind customers benefit from the latest security updates, performance improvements, and product features, Teramind maintains a defined software lifecycle for its agent and server software. This policy outlines the support timelines and what to expect as software versions age.

This policy applies to all Teramind deployments (cloud, on-premises, and private cloud) and all agent types (Windows, Mac, and Linux).

Key Terms

Term

What It Means

Fully Supported

Full troubleshooting, bug fixes delivered in newer releases, all support channels available. You're encouraged to upgrade but not required.

End of Support (EOS)

No new features, no bug fixes, and no troubleshooting for issues on this version. The software continues to function, but our Support team recommends upgrading. We'll help you with the upgrade process — reports, documentation, and step-by-step guidance.

End of Life (EOL)

The software version stops functioning. Agents will no longer communicate with the Teramind server. You must upgrade to the latest version to restore service.

Software Lifecycle Timeline

Teramind’s software lifecycle is based on version supersession. When a new version of the agent or TMU server software is released, the clock starts on the previous version:

Phase

Timeline

What to Expect

Fully Supported

0–12 months after next version releases

Full support is available. We encourage you to plan your upgrade during this window.

End of Support

12–18 months after the next version releases

Critical security patches only. No new features or non-critical bug fixes. Technical support is limited to upgrade assistance: our team will help you plan and execute your migration, including configuration, rules, and historical data.

End of Life

18+ months after the next version releases

The software version stops functioning. Agents will no longer report to the server. You must upgrade to the latest version to restore service.

The End of Support (EOS) date marks the transition from Fully Supported to Limited Support. The End of Life (EOL) date marks the point at which the software ceases to function.

On-Premises Customers

If you host your Teramind deployment on-premises or in your private cloud, this policy applies to both your Teramind agents (endpoint software) and your TMU server software. We recommend working with your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to plan TMU upgrades alongside agent upgrades as they become available.

Auto-Update

Cloud customers with auto-update enabled will generally not be affected by this policy, as agents are updated to the latest version automatically. If your organization has disabled auto-update due to internal change management requirements, please ensure you have a process in place to upgrade agents within the supported window.

How We’ll Notify You

We will proactively notify you if your deployment includes agent or TMU versions approaching End of Support or End of Life:

  • Email notifications sent to account administrators monthly when affected versions are within 3 months of an EOS or EOL date.

  • In-app messages displayed to administrators upon login when their deployment includes affected versions.

All notifications will include the specific version numbers affected and the actions you need to take.
