Bandwidth Usage
The Teramind Agent's bandwidth use depends on your monitoring settings, the user's activity level and the number of screens.
Typical Usage: For a typical office user recorded at 2 frames per second, the Agent uploads approximately 30 KB/s to 60 KB/s per screen.
Lower and Upper Range: Lighter activity at 1 frame per second can use as little as 7 KB/s per screen, while very active screens recorded in high color can use up to approximately 200 KB/s per screen.
Live View: Viewing a user's screen live from the Session Player uses approximately 10 KB/s to 20 KB/s per viewer.
Managing Bandwidth Usage
Bandwidth Settings: You can configure how much bandwidth the Agent uses and when it uploads data in the Data Upload section of the Advanced monitoring settings of a monitoring profile. For example, you can schedule uploads for off-hours at locations with slow connections.
Reducing Usage: You can configure Teramind to record at a reduced frame rate, color mode and resolution, which cuts back bandwidth and storage consumption significantly. For more information, check out this article.
Connection Loss: If offline recording is enabled, the Standard and Stealth Agents store recorded data locally during a network outage and upload it once the connection is restored.
