Teramind provides comprehensive data protection and backup solutions tailored to your deployment model. Whether you are using our Cloud infrastructure or hosting the solution On-Premises/Private Cloud, your data is protected against loss and unauthorized access.
Cloud Deployments
For Cloud customers, Teramind manages the entire backup and disaster recovery infrastructure. We adhere to enterprise-grade security standards to ensure business continuity.
Frequency: Backups are performed daily across multiple availability domains.
Disaster Recovery: Weekly replication across multiple fault domains ensures that data and system states can be recovered in the event of a regional failure.
Security & Encryption: All backups are encrypted using AES 256-bit cryptography (the gold standard for data at rest).
Compliance: Our backup procedures are compliant with ISO 27001:2022 (Annex A 8.13 - Information backup) and SOC 2 (Common Criteria CC7: Backup and Recovery and CC9: Risk Mitigation)
On-Premises & Private Cloud Deployments
Customers hosting Teramind on their own servers or private cloud instances in AWS or Azure have full control over their backup policies. For On-Premise environments, you can utilize your own hypervisor-level snapshot tools, such as VMware or Hyper-V, to secure the Virtual Machine.
In a Private Cloud setup, backups are managed through your cloud provider’s native tools, such as the AWS Control Center or the Azure Portal (using Azure Backup and recovery vaults). This model allows your organization to dictate its own backup schedules, retention periods, and disaster recovery site configurations to meet internal IT requirements.
Data Retention vs. Backups
It is important to distinguish between Backups (for recovery) and Data Retention (how long history is saved):
Metadata: By default, Teramind Cloud stores activity metadata (keystrokes, logs, etc.) for the life of the subscription.
Screen Recordings: In the Cloud version, screen recordings are typically retained for 6 months unless a different retention plan is negotiated.
On-Premises/Private Cloud: Retention is limited only by your allocated storage capacity.
