How to set up 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Updated over a month ago

Setting Up 2FA via Authenticator App

When Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled on the dashboard (under Configurations > Settings > Authentication), the user will be prompted to set up 2FA upon their next login. After entering the login credentials, they will see the 2FA setup screen:

1. Click the Google Authenticator button to begin the 2FA setup using an authenticator app.

2. Scan the QR Code using your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy). The instance and account will be added to the app, which will immediately begin generating a time-based One Time Password (OTP).

3. Enter the OTP generated by your authenticator app into the One Time Password field.

4. Optionally, you can enable the Trust this device for 15 days option. If enabled, you will not be prompted for the OTP on this device for the next 15 days.

5. Click the Sign In button. You will then be directed to the Save your recovery code screen:

6. Save the recovery code from the Your recovery code field in a secure location. This single-use code allows you to log into your account if you lose access to your authenticator device.

7. Check the box: I acknowledge that I have saved the recovery code.

8. Click the Return to dashboard button to complete the setup and proceed to your dashboard.
